Vandebharat Express to Soon Run Between Vijayawada and Bengaluru

The Indian Railways is set to deliver promising news for passengers traveling between Vijayawada and Bengaluru. According to railway sources, proposals have been finalized to introduce the state-of-the-art Vandebharat Express service between these two key cities. Preliminary assessments suggest that the journey could be completed in just nine hours, significantly reducing travel time.
Officials stated that compared to existing train services, the new Vandebharat Express is expected to save nearly three hours of travel time. Once operational, the service is anticipated to be highly convenient for daily commuters such as employees, business travelers, students, and devotees heading to the Tirupati temple.
The Vandebharat Express will consist of eight coaches—seven AC Chair Cars and one Executive Chair Car. As per the proposals, the train will operate six days a week, excluding Tuesdays.
Proposed Timings:
From Vijayawada to Bengaluru (Train No. 20711):
The train will depart from Vijayawada at 5:15 a.m., stopping at Tenali (5:39 a.m.), Ongole (6:28 a.m.), Nellore (7:43 a.m.), Tirupati (9:45 a.m.), Chittoor (10:27 a.m.), Katpadi (11:13 a.m.), and reaching Krishnarajapuram at 1:38 p.m., before arriving at SMVT Bengaluru station at 2:15 p.m.
From Bengaluru to Vijayawada (Train No. 20712):

Currently, the only direct rail option from Vijayawada to Bengaluru is the Machilipatnam–Yesvantpur Kondaveedu Express, which runs three times a week. In this context, railway authorities expressed optimism that the proposed Vandebharat Express will provide passengers with a faster and more comfortable travel experience.
