Land Seized in Sajjala Family’s Estate

The coalition government has dealt a blow to YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader and former government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy’s family by seizing forest land allegedly encroached upon by his relatives. Authorities have taken possession of disputed land within the family’s estate located in Chintakomma Dinne Mandal of YSR district.
Out of 184 acres associated with the Sajjala family's estate, officials identified 63 acres as encroached property. Among these, 52 acres were confirmed by forest officials to be forest land. A report detailing the encroachment was already submitted to the government by the district collector.
Acting on directives from higher authorities, the Tehsildar of Chintakomma Dinne proceeded to seize the occupied land. Revenue staff demarcated the 63 acres and installed signboards indicating government possession. Of the land reclaimed, the 52 acres of forest land are to be formally handed over to the Forest Department.
Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy was known to have held a key position during the YSRCP administration. The recovery of government and forest land previously under his family’s control has now become a topic of political discussion across the state.
