The central government has allotted two major projects to the city of Hyderabad, according to Union Minister for Tourism and Culture Kishan Reddy. These include the establishment of a "Global Centre of Millets" with an estimated investment of ₹200 crore and a prestigious "Kavach Project Centre of Excellence" under the Ministry of Railways.

Kishan Reddy made this announcement during a press conference held at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state office in Hyderabad. He stated that the Global Centre of Millets will be established under the supervision of the Union Ministry of Agriculture. The centre will facilitate intensified research on millets, aiming to significantly boost their production. He emphasized that Hyderabad is poised to play a key role in the growth of millet cultivation and research.

In addition, Kishan Reddy revealed that Hyderabad will also host the Centre of Excellence for the Kavach project, a domestically developed railway safety system. He expressed confidence that these initiatives will transform Hyderabad into a critical hub for both agricultural research and advanced railway safety technology.

Kishan Reddy expressed optimism that these two central projects will not only enhance Hyderabad’s prominence on the national stage but also generate local employment opportunities.
