Chandrababu Briefs on Delhi Tour... Here Are the Details!

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu addressed the media following a series of key meetings with Union Ministers in Delhi. He stated that, marking a decade since the bifurcation of the state, he urged the central government to include Amaravati as the official capital in the Reorganisation Act and issue a formal notification. He also said that he had brought several crucial matters concerning the comprehensive development of Andhra Pradesh to the attention of the Union Ministers.
Chandrababu Naidu alleged that severe damage occurred in Andhra Pradesh between 2019 and 2024 under the rule of the YSRCP. He expressed the view that it would take at least ten years to bring the state back on track from the losses sustained during this period. He reiterated that his party had promised in the elections to reconstruct the state once in power and claimed that his government was earnestly pursuing this goal. Chandrababu Naidu further stated that the previous administration had left outstanding dues amounting to approximately ₹1.20 lakh crore by failing to clear bills. He also announced that Andhra Pradesh had attracted the highest level of investments this year.
Speaking about the energy sector, the Chief Minister said that several proposals were submitted to the central government. He explained that under the ‘PM Surya Ghar’ scheme, the state aims to provide solar electricity to 3.5 million households, targeting 10,000 households per constituency. He requested the Centre to extend full support for the implementation of this scheme.
He added that his government had introduced the ‘AP Integrated Clean Energy Policy’ with an objective to generate 72 gigawatts of green energy. He said that he had requested Union Minister for Power Pralhad Joshi to approve a ₹28,346 crore Green Energy Corridor required for this initiative, and the minister responded positively.
Chandrababu Naidu said the central government had already approved the generation of 2,000 megawatts of electricity under the KUSUM scheme. He expressed confidence that Andhra Pradesh would soon transform into a Green Energy Hub and added that uninterrupted 24-hour power supply would be possible in the state through green energy sources.
On the defence front, he described his meeting with Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh as productive. He said he congratulated Rajnath Singh on the successful completion of “Operation Sindoor.” Chandrababu Naidu revealed that several proposals were submitted to promote defence manufacturing in the state.
He said that the government proposed to establish a Missile and Ammunition Protection Centre in the 6,000 acres available in the Jaggaiahpet-Dolakonda cluster. Additionally, a manufacturing centre for military and civil aircraft and electronics was proposed in the Lepakshi-Madakasira cluster. Naval experimentation centres were proposed in the Visakhapatnam-Anakapalli cluster, and a facility for manufacturing military drones, robotics, and advanced defence components was suggested in the Kurnool-Orvakal cluster.
He said that a proposal was also made to establish a Centre of Excellence under DRDO at IIT Tirupati. According to Chandrababu Naidu, Union Minister Rajnath Singh responded positively to all these proposals and assured that the request for establishing a military cantonment in the state would be considered.
Addressing irrigation, Chandrababu Naidu said the estimated cost for constructing the Polavaram-Banakacharla project is around ₹80,000 crore. He explained that the project would enable the diversion of 200 TMC feet of water to Rayalaseema, utilizing water that currently flows wastefully into the sea. He clarified that the project would not cause any inconvenience to neighbouring states. He added that the project would begin as soon as central approval is received and stated that he had requested Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to sanction the required funds.
