RCB Fans Rejoice as Star Pacer Josh Hazlewood Returns for IPL Playoffs

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have received a significant boost ahead of the playoffs, with star pacer Josh Hazlewood making his return to the team. Announcing the development, RCB shared a video of Josh Hazlewood on their official 'X' (formerly Twitter) account. Hazlewood had been away from the squad for a while due to a shoulder injury but has now recovered and rejoined the team.
Josh Hazlewood is RCB’s leading wicket-taker this season. Despite playing only ten matches, he has taken 18 wickets at an average of 17.27 and an economy rate of 8.44. He currently ranks as the fourth-highest wicket-taker in this edition of the tournament. However, he has not played since April 27.
Following rising tensions along the India-Pakistan border, the IPL was temporarily suspended, prompting Hazlewood to return to Australia. After undergoing a rehabilitation period in his home country, he returned to join the IPL squad. RCB fans have expressed delight at his comeback. As part of Australia’s preparations for the World Test Championship (WTC) Final against South Africa, Hazlewood also trained in Brisbane before flying back to India.
RCB have already secured a place in the playoffs. However, a high-scoring loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Friday delivered a setback to the team, diminishing their chances of finishing in the top two positions on the points table. In this critical phase, Hazlewood’s return is expected to significantly strengthen RCB.
