Lokesh Has Proven His Leadership Abilities: AP TDP President Palla Srinivasa Rao
Palla Srinivasa Rao, President of the Andhra Pradesh unit of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), expressed confidence that Nara Lokesh is the future leader of the party. Making these significant remarks during the Mahanadu event currently being held in Kadapa, Palla Srinivasa Rao stated that he hopes a decision will be made at this Mahanadu to formally hand over the party leadership reins to Nara Lokesh.
He described the opportunity to deliver the inaugural address at Mahanadu as a matter of great fortune and extended his gratitude to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for the honor.
Palla Srinivasa Rao praised the leadership qualities of Nara Lokesh, stating, “We believe that Lokesh Babu has the capability to lead the party effectively. He has evolved not just as the son of Chandrababu Naidu or the grandson of N. T. Rama Rao, but transformed into a people’s leader after the party's defeat in 2019. The huge majority he secured in Mangalagiri stands as evidence of his leadership skills.”
He lauded Nara Lokesh’s maturity, pointing out that his ability to learn from defeat and secure a commanding majority is a clear sign of his political growth. According to Palla Srinivasa Rao, Lokesh dedicates ample time to party affairs, stays constantly connected with the public, consults with fellow leaders, and initiates necessary reforms within the party in tune with the times. He also emphasized Lokesh’s clear understanding of subjects like digitization and decentralization.
Describing the hosting of Mahanadu in Kadapa as a historic decision, Palla Srinivasa Rao said, “Initially, there were doubts about whether holding Mahanadu in Kadapa would be feasible, whether people would cooperate, and whether it would be possible given that it is considered a stronghold of Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. However, seeing the cooperation extended by the public, leaders, and activists after arriving here, I feel immense happiness. People have even opened up their homes to accommodate party workers.”
He stated that the Mahanadu platform is being used to deliberate and introduce reforms in alignment with public aspirations and changing ideologies.
Regarding the agenda of Mahanadu and future strategies, Palla Srinivasa Rao clarified that the event is not solely focused on party workers' welfare. He said, “This Mahanadu will adopt several critical resolutions related to the state's future. Issues like development decentralization and preparing capable leaders for future generations will be key topics. The Telugu Desam Party has always made timely decisions. Chandrababu Naidu’s experience and Nara Lokesh’s youthful leadership are the strengths of the party.”
He asserted that Lokesh has matured enough to take over the party leadership and described this transition as a historic decision, sharing his perspective during a televised interview with TV9.
