Asaduddin Owaisi Questions Government Neglect of Hyderabad’s Old City

Asaduddin Owaisi, the president of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) party and Member of Parliament from Hyderabad, expressed strong concern on Saturday over the ongoing issues faced by the Old City area of Hyderabad. Speaking to the media, Asaduddin Owaisi questioned the indifference of government authorities, asking, “What wrong has the Old City done?”
Owaisi pointed out that the repeated fire accidents in the Old City have left residents anxious and alarmed. He said the lack of adequate housing has placed local people under severe hardship.
Highlighting the worsening civic conditions, Asaduddin Owaisi stated, “Due to poor sanitation management, the situation is deteriorating by the day. Narrow roads and heavy traffic are making life miserable for commuters. Even in areas with significant traffic flow, signal lights are not functioning. Senior police officials are failing to address these issues,” he said in a tone of frustration.
He also alleged that small vendors who run their livelihood along the roadsides are being removed. “Lakhs of families depend on such small businesses for survival. If they lose their source of income, there is a greater risk of thefts and robberies increasing. The government must take this matter seriously and make an immediate decision,” he urged.
Asaduddin Owaisi demanded that the government pay special attention to the development of the Old City and address the residents' problems. He called on the authorities to take urgent action regarding the recurring fire accidents, housing inadequacies, and poor sanitation.
