Chinese PLA hands over missing Arunchal boy to Indian Army

The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has handed over Miram Taron, the boy who went missing from Arunachal Pradesh a week ago, to the Indian Army, disclosed Union Minister for Law Kiren Rijiju.
Taking to Twitter on Thursday, the Union Minister said, “The Chinese PLA has handed over the young boy from Arunachal Pradesh Shri Miram Taron to Indian Army. Due procedures are being followed including the medical examination.”

It may be recalled that Chinese forces recently announced the arrest of Taron. Taron, a resident of the Upper Siang district, had gone missing since January 19. However, Arunachal Pradesh MP Tapir responded by saying that Taron, who went in search of herbs on the border area, was abducted by Chinese forces, however, others, who accompanied him, had escaped.

Three days after the incident, Chinese forces informed the Indian Army that Taron was under their control. The Indian Army has repeatedly consulted Chinese forces. As a result of their talks, China handed over Taron to the Indian Army at the interaction point between the Wacha-Damai areas in Arunachal Pradesh.

Taron's surrender was confirmed by Union Justice Minister Kiran Rijiju. The Minister lauded the Indian Army for striving for the release of the boy.
