New Delhi: A statement released by Russia on Wednesday said it would further ease the plight of Indians stranded in Ukraine. Russia has hailed India's declaration of a neutral stance at the United Nations on the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. Russia also praised India for its deep understanding of the crisis. In this context, Russia immediately agreed to a request made by India to Russia. In this backdrop, Russia's Ambassador to India Denis Alipov made a key announcement on Wednesday.
Russia says it will provide security for Indians stranded in Ukraine and it was in talks with authorities for Indians stranded in eastern Ukraine. It said it was accepting India's request for the immediate evacuation of Indians stranded in various parts of Ukraine over Russia.
Moreover, Alipov said in the statement that Russia was a strategic ally of India. He further clarified that there would be no impediment to the supply of S-400 air defence missiles made earlier with India. With this, the plight of Indians trapped in Ukraine will become even easier.
