Ready for any probe over allegations on purchase of Pegasus spyware, says Nara Lokesh
Hyderabad: TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh has made a statement on the controversy over the purchase of Pegasus software, which has been stirring up a row for the past few days. Lokesh made it clear that they are ready to face any probe, including the House Committee, Judiciary Committee and CBI, over the allegations on purchase of Pegasus.
Lokesh's remarks came on the heels of the council's approval of a short-term debate on the Pegasus deal, as proposed by the YSRCP in the Legislative Council on Monday.
At the same time, he also threw a challenge at the YSRCP. Can the State government set up a committee to probe into the YS Vivekananda Reddy's murder and adulterated liquor deaths in Jangareddygudem, West Godavari district? he asked.
There is no clarity whether Mamata Banerjee spoke in the Assembly on Pegasus or not, said and recalled the reply given by former DGP Sawang to an RTI applicant that Pegasus had not purchased during the TDP regime. Lokesh said the Israeli ambassador had also stated that Pegasus software was not sold to individuals or private companies.
