Tension prevails as contractors lay siege to GHMC office in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Tension prevailed at the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) in Hyderabad on Friday. The GHMC office was besieged by contractors alleging that Rs 1,000 crore bills were pending with the GHMC since August 2021. 

"We are facing a lot of troubles due to financial constraints as the bills are not being cleared by the municipal authorities." They tried to barge into the GHMC office,  but Corporation security personnel stopped them. Speaking on the occasion, contractors warned that they would not work until the bills were cleared.
