Key development in Nayeem's case, Rs 150 crore seized

Hyderabad: A key development took place on Monday in the case of gangster Nayeem, who caused a stir in Telangana. The Income Tax department has taken a crucial decision by seizing 10 assets worth Rs 150 crore belonging to Nayeem. All these assets are reported to be in the names of Nayeem's benamis. The IT department, which seized the assets, also issued notices to Nayeem's wife Hasini.

Nayeem, who had maintained friendly relations with several key officials in the police department, had been accused in the past of indulging in extortions. Nayeem, went into hiding after many allegations were levelled against him. It is learnt that the Telangana police, who launched a man-hunt to nab him, had killed him in an encounter at Shad Nagar on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
