BJP MP Aravind deceived Telangana turmeric farmers: MLC Kavitha
Nizamabad, May 4: TRS MLC K. Kavitha on Wednesday slammed BJP MP Dharmapuri Aravind for not fulfilling his election promise of setting up the National Turmeric Board in Nizambad. Addressing a press meet, she mentioned that the Telangana government wrote letters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman explaining the need for sanctioning Turmeric Board to the state.
The MLC said that Nizamabad MP had deceived 1 lakh turmeric farmers in Telangana. “Aravind could get only Rs 1.92 crore in three years from the Centre for the Spice Development Agency,” she flayed. Kavitha claimed that the Telangana government had credited Rs 50,000 crores into the bank accounts of farmers under the Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima schemes.
Sharing an incident with the media, Kavitha said that farmers of Raichur district met Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay during his Praja Sangrama Yatra and asked him to advise the BJP government in Karnataka to implement similar schemes of the Telangana government. “Sanjay could not muster a word from his mouth to the request of farmers,” she said.
