Boney Kapoor credit card misused, loses Rs 3.82 lakhs in cyber fraud
Mumbai: Film producer Boney Kapoor's credit card was misused and he lost lakhs of money. Hackers stole money from famous filmmaker’s account. Boney Kapoor lodged a complaint with the Mumbai police on May 25. According to the police of Amboli police station, a case was registered under IPC, Information‌ Technology Act.
It is alleged that the accused stole Boney Kapoor's credit card details, password and other data. Five online transactions were made on February 9 with the help of this data. With these five transactions, a total of Rs. 3.82 lakhs were stolen by the accused.
However, the police said that Boney Kapoor did not know about the transactions. Later, when he checked the accounts, he realised that he had lost money. The police, who registered the case, launched an investigation into the case. According to the police, the stolen money went into the account of a company in Gurugram.
