IT companies' expansion in tier-II cities of Telangana gaining momentum
Hyderabad: The expansion of IT companies in tier-II cities in Telangana is gradually gaining momentum. Until now, only domestic companies have opened offices in tier-II cities. Recently, an American company has joined the list. This strengthens the belief that Hyderabad as well as district centres, too, will become hubs of IT companies.
Houston-based Techwave has expanded in the United States. The IT company, which is owned by Indian NRIs, provides services in banking, financial services, Fintech, life sciences, health tech, telecom and logistics. The company currently has 2,500 employees globally. Techwave has devised a strategy to expand massively and recruit thousands of employees over the next three years. However, this expansion has given a big boost to Telangana as the majority of offices will be coming up here.
Techwave has decided to open two new campuses in Hyderabad as part of its expansion. There are already IT companies in Hyderabad. However, it is noteworthy that Techwave has decided to open offices in Warangal and Khammam as well. Techwave already has 250 employees at the Khammam Centre and plans to increase that number to 1,000 soon. Work on the Warangal Centre will start with a capacity of 1,000 people.
Ten years ago, the IT Incubation Centre was opened in Warangal. After that, some small companies set up their units there. But, the scenario changed after the formation of Telangana. Cyient already setting up its campus here, Mind Tree and Tech Mahindra are also planning to open their own campuses. The IT Incubation Centre was launched in Khammam last year and has more than twenty companies simultaneously operating in it. Techwave is one of them. It will soon move into its own campus in Khammam.
