Not correct to declare strike without giving notice: Producer C Kalyan
Hyderabad, June 22: In the wake of strike announced by 20,000 workers of 24 crafts belonging to the Telugu film industry on Wednesday, Telugu Film Producers’ Council held a press meet and said that they are ready to enhance wages of workers and improve their working conditions.
Producer C Kalyan said that workers should unconditionally work for film shoots as per the existing system from Thursday. “We are ready to hold talks with the Telugu Film Industry Employees Federation on wage hike and working conditions on Friday,” he mentioned and added that they did not officially receive strike notice from the workers.
Kalyan stated that no producer will continue shooting from Thursday if workers are not willing to call off strike. He mentioned that producers’ council want to resolve five conditions prior to agreeing on better wages. The Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce secretary Damodar Prasad, producers A.M. Ratnam and Ravi, and others were present.
