Kolkata: On the occasion of 75 years of independence, celebrations were held all over the country. Young, old, rich and the poor have celebrated without any difference. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who is always busy with politics, had fun during the independence celebrations. Cultural programmes were conducted as part of the celebrations in Kolkata.
Mamata Banerjee, who was the chief guest in the programme, danced with folk dancers. She danced hand in hand with the women there. After dancing with them, all the guests who came to the programme stood and gave a standing ovation. The video has gone viral on social media.
Paying rich tributes to the freedom fighters, the West Bengal Chief Minister said, "We should uphold the dignity of the country's democratic values. We should preserve the sacred legacy of our forefathers, who attained independence. Today we recall the sacrifices made by our forefathers that led to independence.”
