Noida Twin Towers demolition: How a sleeping was evacuated minutes before blast
Lucknow: It is known that the authorities demolished the Twin Towers, which were built against the rules in Noida on Sunday. At 2.30 in the afternoon, a couple of buildings were razed to the ground by pressing a button using the ‘water palm’ technique. The Twin Towers collapsed in just nine seconds. Over 3,700 kg of explosives were used to bring down these towers.
A no-flying zone has been implemented at the Twin Towers and a restricted area of 500 metres has been declared around it. But, before the demolition process, the police took strong action. Locals around the Twin Towers were temporarily evacuated. However, those who provided shelter nearby remained in their flats till Sunday morning. At seven in the morning, they went to the shelter centres from there.
But one person was sleeping at home. He was fast asleep on the top floor of an apartment near the Twin Towers. He did not wake up at the appointed time to evacuate. Before the demolition of the Twin Towers, a final inspection was carried out everywhere.
On the occasion, the security guard found the person sleeping in the top floor flat of a tower and immediately informed the task force staff. With this, he was woken up and sent to the shelter from there. A member of the Task Force said that due to taking all precautions in the matter of demolition, the man was identified in time.
