Centre to conduct Liberation Day officially, 3 CMs including KCR invited
Delhi, September 3: The Central government decided to hold Telangana Liberation Day on September 17 officially. The Ministry of Culture will organise an inaugural programme at Parade Grounds on September 17 in Hyderabad. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will attend as a chief guest for the event.
For the same programme, Union Culture and Tourism Minister G. Kishan Reddy on Saturday wrote letters extending invitation to Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Talking to reporters, Kishan Reddy said that year-long Liberation Day celebrations will be held in regions which were under the rule of Nizam of Hyderabad. Meanwhile, the Telangana government decided to conduct ‘Telangana Raitanga Sayudha Porata Vajrotsavalu’ on September 17. Vajrotsavalu will be conducted throughout the year in villages. Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay alleged that KCR is not holding Liberation Day celebrations officially fearing MIM party.
