TDP taking credit for Sangam barrage completion flayed
Amaravati, September 7: Irrigation Minister Ambati Rambabu lambasted the TDP for taking credit of MGR Sangam barrage completion. Talking to reporters here on Wednesday, he asked TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu as to whether he even thought of completing a single irrigation project when the TDP was in power. Responding to TDP’s claim, “Naidu always dependent either on BJP or Left parties to come to power,” he flayed.
Ambati mentioned that the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) yet to make an assessment regarding the extent of damage caused to diaphragm wall of the Polavaram Project. He made it clear that Polavaram’s earth-cum-rock fill dam will be constructed only after clarity on diaphragm wall.
The minister made the previous TDP government responsible for causing damage to diaphragm wall. “AP government will ask the Centre, PPA and CWC as to why they gave nod for diaphragm wall without completion of cofferdam,” Ambati said. He mentioned that the TDP wishing not a single irrigation project should be completed in the YSRCP rule.
