AP Assembly: Rajini slams TDP for politicising girl’s death for mileage
Amaravati, September 20: During a short discussion on viral fevers in the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday here, Minister for Health, Medical and Family Welfare Vidadala Rajini made it clear that no one succumbed to viral fevers in the state. “AP government took several measures for bringing down viral fever cases,” she said.
Rajini criticised the TDP for politicising the death of a tribal girl. “Sandhya died of viral disease while undergoing treatment at government hospital in Bhadrachalam,” she stated and showed the medical reports of doctors. “Special officers were appointed at district-level to monitor viral fever cases,” she informed and added that it is not right for the TDP to blame her government.
Further, the minister stated that only 4,000 malaria cases were reported in the YSRCP rule whereas 74,000 from 2014 to 2019 when TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu was Chief Minister. “Dengue and malaria were included Aarogyasri scheme to provide better treatment for infected people,” she mentioned.
