Tollywood comedian Ali appointed as Electronic Media Advisor by AP govt
Amaravati: Tollywood comedian and TV host Ali has been appointed as Electronic Media Advisor by the Andhra Pradesh government. It has issued orders stating that he will remain in the post for two years. The GO said that separate orders will be issued regarding the salary and allowance to be paid to Ali.
It may be recalled that Ali joined YSRCP and campaigned with the belief that he would get the post in the last elections. As expected, he did not get the MLA ticket, but he hoped for the MLC post. However, the government did not disclose anything in that regard.
There was speculation that he would get a chance to become a member of the Rajya Sabha or the Chairman of the Wakf Board. On one occasion, on the special invitation of Jaganmohan Reddy, Ali and his wife met the Chief Minister.
In that meeting, Ali was sent home saying that he would get the good news in a week. It's been a while since that week. Eventually, Ali got the post of Electronic Media Advisor to the AP government. In the related orders, it is stated that Ali will be in office for two years.
