Prime Minister Narendra Modi today virtually inaugurated the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) built in Mangalagiri, dedicating this prestigious medical institution to the nation.
The inauguration ceremony of Mangalagiri AIIMS was attended by Union Ministers Prahlad Joshi, Bharti Praveen, Andhra Pradesh Governor Justice Abdul Nazeer, AP Health Minister Vidadala Rajani, and BJP State President Daggubati Purandeswari.
Today, Prime Minister Modi simultaneously inaugurated 5 AIIMS across the country, including the ones in Mangalagiri, Rajkot (Gujarat), Bathinda (Punjab), Rae Bareli (Uttar Pradesh), and Kalyani (West Bengal).
On this occasion, he remarked that for 50 years after independence, there was only one AIIMS in the country, located in Delhi. He criticized previous governments for approving 7 AIIMS in seven decades after independence but failing to complete them.
However, he highlighted that within just 10 days, either the inauguration or foundation laying of 7 new AIIMS has been accomplished, indicating an acceleration in the country's development compared to the last six decades.
