Steps to Follow If Your Name Is Missing from the Free Electricity and Subsidized Gas Schemes

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy launched two new guarantee schemes on Tuesday, as part of the six guarantees promised. These include providing 200 units of free electricity and gas cylinders at ₹500. Both schemes are applicable only to those possessing white ration cards. The Energy Department has instructed DISCOMs to implement 'zero' billing from March for consumers using up to 200 units of electricity. Guidelines for these two schemes have been issued by the government.

Eligibility for the Domestic Electricity Scheme:

Only one connection per household is eligible.
Applications accepted through public administration or other official channels that link Aadhaar with the white ration card and have a domestic electricity connection number are eligible.
Eligible households will receive a 'zero' bill for up to 200 units.
DISCOMs must approve bills with the existing names for zero bills.
If DISCOMs submit the zero bills to the government, they will receive subsidies by the 20th of each month.
Legal actions are applicable if the scheme connection is sold for commercial purposes.
If eligible but not receiving a zero bill, one must contact the local MPDO office, Municipal Commissioner's office, or the Circle office with the ration card and electricity connection details through the public administration portal. A receipt from the officials will be given, and upon verification, the zero bill will be approved from the next month.


Eligibility for ₹500 Gas Cylinder:

Applicants who apply through public administration for the subsidized gas scheme will receive gas at ₹500.
Applicants must possess a white ration card.
The applicant should have an active gas connection in their name.
The subsidy is calculated based on the average number of cylinders booked or used over the past three years, limited to a certain number at ₹500.
Full payment is required when booking the gas. Subsequently, the government will reimburse the subsidy amount to the gas companies, which will then deposit the subsidy directly into the consumer's bank account via DBT.
