Amaravati: The state government is in a regrettable position of being unable to specify when the Polavaram project will be completed, according to TDP senior leader Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar, who criticized Chief Minister Jagan. He accused the state government of neglecting major projects in the state by engaging in reverse tendering. Specifically, he highlighted that the Polavaram project has suffered losses amounting to thousands of crores, and the construction works have been significantly damaged.
Kanakamedala noted that the central government had assessed the damage in Polavaram and pointed out the unfortunate outcome of the state government not taking any measures to seek assistance till today. He commented on the state's lamentable situation of not being able to predict the completion of the Polavaram project, which has resulted in a severe downturn for the state's farming community.
He also compared the agricultural achievements during Chandrababu Naidu's tenure, where cultivation was undertaken in 1.42 crore acres during the Kharif and Rabi seasons, to the drastic reduction to 30 lakh acres under CM Jagan's administration in 2023-24.
