New Delhi: In the Delhi liquor scam case, BRS MLC Kavitha has been remanded to 14 days of judicial custody by the Rouse Avenue Court. Following the court's orders, she was transferred to Tihar Jail, where she is to remain until the 9th of next month. It has been reported that on her first day in Tihar Jail, Kavitha, along with two other female inmates, stayed in cell number 6.
For dinner on Tuesday night, Kavitha had rice and lentils. She also served the same food to the two other female inmates in the jail with her. The next morning, she had tea and snacks. According to official sources from Tihar Jail, Kavitha spent her first day reading books and watching TV, similar to the other inmates. A senior jail official mentioned that Kavitha's routine, including the times for tea, meals, and television, would be the same as for other prisoners. It was also noted that Kavitha did not demand any special amenities and that she would be provided with items as per the jail's regulations.
Moreover, the court has allowed inmates, including Kavitha, to arrange for their home-cooked meals, bedding, slippers, clothes, blankets, books, and has permitted the possession of pens and papers, and medication. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has been instructed to provide all medical examination records related to Kavitha to her lawyers during her custody. Additionally, a directive has been issued for a response to be given by April 1st regarding Kavitha's bail petition.
