Chittoor: During an election campaign in Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy was targeted in a stone-pelting incident. In response, leaders of the YSRCP have launched statewide protests. Minister R.K. Roja participated in these protests in Puttur, near the statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, demanding the immediate arrest of the assailants.
Minister Roja accused former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of orchestrating the attack due to political insecurity, driven by the popularity of Jaganmohan Reddy's ongoing bus tour. She claimed that Naidu resorted to violence out of fear that his party would lose deposits in the elections if Reddy remained a strong contender. Furthermore, Roja charged that the attempt on Reddy's life was premeditated by Naidu.
The incident has been taken seriously by the Election Commission, which Roja urged to register a case promptly. She demanded that all individuals involved in organizing the attack, allegedly under the direction of Chandrababu Naidu, be arrested. Roja also criticized the approach of Naidu, his son Lokesh, and Pawan Kalyan, accusing them of misleading the youth through their speeches, which she deemed inappropriate for achieving political power through democratic means.
