Visakhapatnam: Chief Minister Jagan stated that the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) is opposed to the privatization of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. He mentioned that his government has been consistently pressuring the central government against the privatization. He emphasized that their struggle regarding the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant is uncompromising and asserted that the government stands in support of the plant workers. Before the commencement of the 'Siddham Yatra,' leaders of the Visakhapatnam Steel Protection Committee met formally with CM Jagan at Yendada, where he made these remarks.
CM Jagan declared that it was the YSRCP government that first raised its voice on behalf of the steel plant workers. He noted that they had written to Prime Minister Modi for the first time, suggesting solutions to the issues faced by the steel plant and had also passed a resolution in the assembly against its privatization.
Jagan expressed that his administration is working tirelessly to restore the former glory of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant without any compromise. He warned that if the NDA coalition at the central government does not secure enough majority, they would intensify their efforts to stop the privatization. He added that if the plant workers vote for the coalition consisting of BJP, TDP, and Jana Sena, it would send negative signals. He urged the steel plant workers to demonstrate their opposition to the coalition's policies and to ensure YSRCP's victory in Gajuwaka.
