The Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi has reserved its judgment on the bail petitions filed by BRS MLC Kavitha in connection with the liquor policy case. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is set to deliver its decision on Kavitha's bail petition on May 2, while the Enforcement Directorate (ED) will announce its verdict on May 6. During the hearings, extensive arguments were presented before the court by the investigative agencies.
The lawyer representing the ED argued for nearly two hours against granting bail. The defense lawyers for Kavitha are expected to file a rejoinder by April 26. The agencies argued that there is no merit in the claims of an illegal arrest and that there is substantial evidence in the liquor case to support their stance.
