Telangana Government Appoints Amrapali as GHMC Commissioner, Transfers 44 IAS Officers

The Telangana government has appointed IAS officer Amrapali as the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner. On Monday afternoon, Telangana Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari issued orders to this effect. Along with Amrapali, the government of Revanth Reddy has transferred a total of 44 IAS officers. Sudarshan Reddy has been appointed as the Principal Secretary of the General Administration Department (GAD), Sanjay Kumar as the Principal Secretary of the Labour and Employment Training Department, Savyasachi Ghosh as the Principal Secretary of the Animal Husbandry Department, and Vaniprasad as the Principal Secretary of the Youth Services, Tourism, and Sports Department.


The government has appointed Shailaja Ramaiyer as the Principal Secretary of Handlooms and Textiles. In addition, she has been given the extra responsibility of Managing Director (MD) of Handlooms and TGCVO Handicrafts. Senior IAS officer Sandeep Kumar Sultania has been appointed as the Principal Secretary of the Finance Department, with additional responsibilities as the Principal Secretary of the Planning Department. Another IAS officer, Ahmad Nadeem, has been appointed as the Principal Secretary of the Forest and Environment Departments, with additional responsibilities as the Director General (DG) of TPRTI.

Syed Ali Murtaza Rizvi has been transferred to the Commercial Taxes and Excise Department. Dr. Jyoti Buddha Prasad, currently serving as the Commissioner of the Transport Department, has been transferred to the Registration and Stamps Department, and Elamparithi has been appointed as the Commissioner of the Transport Department. However, until Elamparithi assumes charge, Dr. Jyoti Buddha Prasad has been instructed to continue as the Commissioner of the Transport Department with additional responsibilities.
