The Telangana High Court has dismissed a petition filed by Prajashanti Party President KA Paul, seeking a directive to prevent defected MLAs from attending the Assembly. In his petition, Paul urged the court to restrict these MLAs from interfering in Assembly decisions and casting votes in resolutions. He argued that the practice of party-hopping by elected representatives erodes public trust and could normalize political defections if not addressed.

After reviewing the petition, the High Court stated that decisions regarding defected MLAs fall under the jurisdiction of the Assembly Speaker. The court reiterated that in its recent ruling, it had instructed the Speaker to make a decision on the matter at an appropriate time. The High Court emphasized that it cannot prohibit the concerned MLAs from attending the Assembly before the Speaker has made a decision.
