'Fengal' Cyclone Brings Heavy Rain to Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh

The cyclonic storm 'Fengal,' which formed in the southwest Bay of Bengal, crossed the coastline between 10:30 PM and 11:30 PM on Saturday near Puducherry, according to Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Managing Director Ronanki Kurmanath.
The storm is moving slowly in a west-southwest direction and is expected to gradually weaken. Its influence is likely to result in heavy rainfall in isolated areas of South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema today, he added. Residents in low-lying areas have been advised to remain cautious.
Due to the cyclone's impact, several regions in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Andhra Pradesh are already experiencing heavy rainfall.
