Governor Justice Abdul Nazeer has approved the amendment to the retirement age of judicial officers in Andhra Pradesh. This amendment raises the retirement age of judicial officers from 60 to 61 years. The revised law has been officially published in the gazette as per the directives of the state’s law department.

The Andhra Pradesh government had earlier decided to extend the retirement age for judicial officers, introducing the "AP Government Employees’ Retirement Age Rationalization Amendment Bill" during a recent legislative assembly session. The bill, presented by Minister Payyavula Keshav, received unanimous approval in the assembly and subsequently in the legislative council. After receiving the Governor’s assent, the law is now in effect.
