KTR Criticizes Revanth Reddy: Respect KCR First to Earn Respect
BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) criticized Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing him of speaking without restraint or decency. KTR stated that their leader and former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) does not need to learn anything from Revanth. He remarked that only if Revanth respects KCR, will they consider respecting Revanth in return.
Speaking at an event commemorating the death anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at Telangana Bhavan, KTR made several pointed remarks. He mocked Revanth, stating that while he once called Sonia Gandhi a "sacrificial goddess," he now refers to her as the "Mother of Telangana." KTR questioned Revanth's absence when KCR installed the statue of "Telangana Thalli" (Mother Telangana). He also demanded to know why the design of the statue was altered.
KTR criticized the Congress for frequently overturning previous government decisions. He pointed out that even when Indira Gandhi installed a statue of Bharat Mata (Mother India), it was not replaced by the Vajpayee government. He accused Revanth of ignoring statues of prominent leaders like Ambedkar and former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao. He also claimed that Revanth showed no interest in the recently unveiled 125-foot Ambedkar statue.
Addressing Revanth's criticisms, KTR said the installation of Telangana Thalli’s statue is not a personal affair like an event in Revanth's home. He added that for the BRS, Telangana Thalli matters more than invitations to events. He mocked Revanth, asking whether he was promoting a statue of Telangana Thalli or the Congress "mother."
KTR also criticized Congress for failing to address Telangana’s issues. He alleged that the Congress’s leadership is enforcing an "Indira Emergency" rather than Indiramma’s governance. Additionally, he demanded that the Assembly session be conducted for at least a month to discuss key issues such as the agrarian crisis, the Lagcharla incident, Gurukula schools, and the suicides of auto drivers.
