Telangana Thalli Turned into Congress Thalli: Kavitha
BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha has strongly criticized Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing him of dishonoring Telangana’s cultural heritage. Kavitha alleged that the Telangana Thalli, a symbol of the state's pride, was turned into a "Congress Thalli." She stated that the Congress party’s actions have caused distress to Telangana’s identity, with Telangana Thalli "weeping" as a result of their deeds.
Kavitha expressed her disappointment at the exclusion of Bathukamma from the Telangana Thalli’s statue, describing it as a direct affront to the state’s cultural uniqueness. She argued that such actions diminish Telangana's distinct identity. “The Chief Minister does not deserve the honor of paying tributes to Telangana Thalli,” Kavitha remarked.
BRS MLC Vanidevi
Adding to the criticism, BRS MLC Vanidevi made sharp remarks, calling the current unveiling ceremony a “Congress Thalli’s statue inauguration” rather than Telangana Thalli’s. Speaking to the media at Telangana Bhavan, Vanidevi emphasized that the Telangana Thalli’s statue should reflect the state’s identity, which she claimed was not the case with the Congress-led government’s creation.
Vanidevi criticized the portrayal of Telangana Thalli as a poor woman, asserting that no one in Telangana would want such a representation. She argued that the statue created during KCR's tenure adhered to proper sculptural standards and reflected the state's rich cultural and historical heritage.
Vanidevi questioned the rationale behind depicting Telangana Thalli as impoverished, pointing out that the land of Telangana, where the Koh-i-Noor diamond was once found, deserved a dignified representation. She also referenced the famous phrase, “Na Telangana Koti Ratanala Veena” (My Telangana is a Veena of a Crore Gems), arguing that Telangana Thalli deserved an ornate representation to match her glory.
Vanidevi expressed her anger, claiming that the Congress government’s decision to alter the statue and exclude Bathukamma disrespected Telangana's women and their traditions. She accused the Congress of deliberately diminishing the cultural significance of Telangana in a bid to undermine the legacy of KCR’s administration.
