We Changed 'TS' to 'TG' Reflecting People's Aspirations: Revanth Reddy
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced that the state's abbreviation has been officially changed from 'TS' to 'TG' to align with the aspirations of its people. Speaking after unveiling the Telangana Talli statue at the Secretariat complex, he stated that the day would be remembered in history. He highlighted that Telangana's culture and history had long been neglected.
Revanth Reddy recalled that during the Telangana movement, people widely referred to the state as 'TG,' but the previous government chose 'TS,' hurting the sentiments of the people. He criticized the past administration for disregarding popular sentiment.
He also mentioned that "Jaya Jayahe Telangana," a song frequently heard during the movement, did not receive due recognition after the state's formation. Consequently, his administration declared it the official state song. Revanth Reddy emphasized the need to acknowledge poets and artists who played a significant role in the Telangana movement, stating that his government was steering the state toward welfare and prosperity after years of discrimination.
Bhatti Vikramarka Stresses December 9 Significance
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka remarked that December 9 holds historical importance as it marks the first official announcement from the central government regarding the formation of Telangana. He asserted that the struggle for water, funds, and jobs led to the creation of a separate state. However, he criticized the past decade’s governance, alleging that promises remained unfulfilled and people faced continuous restrictions. Bhatti Vikramarka added that since coming to power, his government has been delivering on its commitments one by one.
