Payyavula Keshav Highlights Chandrababu’s Vision Amid Financial Challenges
The Andhra Pradesh government convened district collectors conference today. During the meeting, Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav expressed optimism that the session would serve as an opportunity to address public expectations, review governance, and make necessary adjustments for progress. He noted that the meeting was organized to implement the directives and vision of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
"My journey with Chandrababu Naidu began 30 years ago," said Payyavula Keshav. "In 1995, when Chandrababu became the Chief Minister, his dedication and drive were unparalleled. Today, three decades later, I see him working with even greater enthusiasm. As someone who has walked alongside him for many years, I can observe a clear transformation in his approach. His focus has shifted towards serving the people with a singular goal, infused with a humanitarian perspective in every action he takes, which is truly inspiring for all of us."
However, Keshav clarified that this was not the time for an elaborate speech and highlighted a few key points. "After Chandrababu assumed office as Chief Minister for the fourth time, he inherited a debt of ₹10 lakh crore. The state had to borrow further just to manage debt repayments, including interest. Last year, 99% of the state's revenue was sufficient only to cover salaries and pensions. The previous year, even salaries were paid through loans. The state currently owes ₹1.30 lakh crore in pending arrears."
Payyavula Keshav criticized the previous administration for mismanagement, stating, "Every system was destroyed. Alongside the mounting debts, halted projects across the state added to the challenges inherited by Chandrababu. A normal person would not even be able to sleep under such circumstances. But because it is Chandrababu Naidu, there is no problem. With his competence, he is steadily resolving each issue," he explained.
