CM Chandrababu Announces Potti Sriramulu Telugu University in AP
Today, December 15, marks the death anniversary of Amarajeevi Potti Sriramulu. On this occasion, a remembrance event was held at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram in Vijayawada, attended by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and other dignitaries.
During his address, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu announced plans to establish a Telugu University in Andhra Pradesh named after Potti Sriramulu. He recalled the earlier renaming of Nellore district to Potti Sriramulu district and outlined developmental projects undertaken in Sriramulu’s native village.
Chandrababu Naidu emphasized that Potti Sriramulu's self-sacrifice laid the foundation for the formation of linguistic states in India. He credited the emergence of the Telugu state to Sriramulu’s ultimate sacrifice and praised him as the only person to lay down his life for a cause with such unwavering commitment.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan echoed this sentiment, urging that Potti Sriramulu’s inspirational legacy should resonate throughout the state, AP CM concluded.
