TTD EO Outlines Grand Vision-2047 to Modernize Tirumala
Tirumala, December 22, 2024: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Executive Officer (EO) J. Syamala Rao emphasized that the primary objective of the Tirumala Vision-2047 is to develop Tirumala into a model city. Addressing a media briefing at Annamayya Bhavan, Tirumala, on Sunday, the EO highlighted various initiatives undertaken over the past six months and shared plans aligned with the Vision Document.
The EO elaborated on improvements in services for devotees, including the distribution of high-quality food offerings and laddus prepared with pure ghee. He stated that TTD has established an in-house quality testing lab with equipment worth ₹70 lakh donated by the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). Under the directive of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, TTD has prioritized facilities for common devotees.
The EO noted that the recent Tirumala and Tiruchanur Brahmotsavams were celebrated with grandeur. Special attention was given to sanitation, efficient queue management, and reducing waiting times with continuous monitoring by the Additional EO. He also announced plans to rename 45 guesthouses with spiritual names instead of individual names.
Highlights of Tirumala Vision-2047
- Infrastructure Modernization: Renovation of Tirumala footpaths, multi-level parking, smart parking systems, construction of new link roads, subways, and reconstruction of Ram Bhageecha and Balaji Bus Stands.
- Accommodation Facilities: Development of a 40-acre base camp near Alipiri and the design of spiritual-themed buildings in Tirumala.
- Staff Restructuring: Measures to reassign 31 non-Hindu employees of TTD to government departments or offer them Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS).
- Encroachment Control: Strict action against shopkeepers, hawkers, and unauthorized stalls causing inconvenience to devotees.
- Traffic and Waste Management: Initiatives for traffic regulation, necessary parking facilities, improvement of Mada streets, and waste management, including separate drains for rainwater and sewage.
- Sacred Spots Development: Plans to enhance facilities at Akashaganga and Papavinasanam areas.
- Youth Participation in Spiritual Promotion: Efforts to involve youth in Sanatana Dharma promotion in collaboration with government advisor Chaganti Koteswara Rao.
- Audit of Existing Projects: Comprehensive audits of existing HEEDPP programs to improve their implementation.
- Regulation of Private Canteens: Measures to control prices in private canteens and entrust operations to reputed organizations to ensure quality food.
- Technology Integration: Development of a TTD chatbot with voice-based AI, akin to ChatGPT, to assist devotees.
- Efficient Darshan and Accommodation: Technology-driven initiatives are being implemented to ensure devotees receive darshan and accommodation within scheduled times.
- Action Against Malpractices: Strict measures against individuals exploiting devotees under the pretense of institutional loopholes, with support from vigilance and police teams.
- Temple Development: Systematic plans to develop 61 temples under TTD’s administration.
As part of this initiative, approximately 18 major projects are currently being planned, with nine detailed reports already under preparation. The Tirumala Vision-2047 aims to establish state-of-the-art infrastructure, improve facilities for devotees, and adopt sustainable practices to preserve the sanctity and cultural significance of this revered pilgrimage destination, he added.
