Telangana Devotees Neglected in Tirumala: Konda Surekha's Sensational Comments
Telangana Minister Konda Surekha made sharp remarks alleging negligence towards Telangana devotees in Tirumala from the era of the previous YSRCP government to the present day. During her visit to the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy temple in Srisailam today, she addressed the media, expressing concerns about the treatment of devotees from Telangana at Tirumala.
Konda Surekha claimed that the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has been disregarding recommendation letters issued by Telangana ministers and MLAs. She further stated that discussions are ongoing with the Andhra Pradesh government to address these concerns. The minister mentioned that she had previously raised the issue with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who responded positively to her requests. She emphasized the need for TTD to prioritize Telangana devotees.
Reflecting on Telangana's historical connection to Srisailam, she remarked that the region had unfortunately lost control over the revered temple due to adverse circumstances in the past. She highlighted the significant revenue TTD receives from Telangana devotees and urged the TTD to allocate funds for religious propagation in Telangana. Additionally, she appealed for TTD's support in constructing temples and marriage halls within the state.
