Thai Prime Minister’s Wealth Revealed: Petongtarn Shinawatra Declares Assets Worth Over ₹3,430 Crores
Petongtarn Shinawatra, who assumed office as Thailand’s Prime Minister in August last year, has garnered attention not only as the country’s second female premier but also for her notable family lineage. She follows her aunt Yingluck Shinawatra, Thailand’s first female Prime Minister, and her father, Thaksin Shinawatra, who also previously served as the country’s Prime Minister. Thaksin Shinawatra, a prominent business magnate in the telecommunications sector, is among Thailand's top ten billionaires.
At just 38 years old, Petongtarn Shinawatra recently disclosed intriguing details about her wealth. Her declared assets exceed ₹3,430 crores, with a portion of the wealth linked to properties in Japan and the United Kingdom. The Prime Minister also reported some outstanding debts alongside her impressive portfolio of assets.
Additionally, Petongtarn Shinawatra’s affinity for fashion is evident from her extensive collection of luxury items. Her declared personal belongings include 200 designer handbags, 75 luxury watches, 67 necklaces, 205 pairs of earrings, 108 rings, six bracelets, and 167 pieces of fashion clothing. These details were revealed in her asset disclosure report submitted to Thailand’s National Anti-Corruption Commission.
