YSRCP MP Vijayasai Reddy appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Hyderabad today in connection with a case involving alleged irregularities in the transfer of shares related to Kakinada Sea Port and SEZ. The case was initially registered by the CID based on a complaint filed by K.V. Venkateswara Rao (K.V. Rao), and subsequently, ED launched its own investigation.

Speaking to the media after a six-hour-long interrogation, Vijayasai Reddy stated, “They questioned me for six hours and asked 25 questions, primarily based on the allegations made by K.V. Rao.”

Explaining the context of his interactions with various people, he said, “As a public representative, I often receive requests from different individuals. Some ask me to speak to officials to resolve their issues, while others request me to contact business leaders for job opportunities. As part of my responsibilities, I make such calls frequently. However, regarding Kakinada Sea Port, I categorically clarified during the inquiry that I neither called K.V. Rao nor promised to send Vikrant Reddy to him."

Referring to the complaint, he added, "If there is any truth in the allegations made by K.V. Rao, let him come to Tirumala. Since his name contains ‘Venkateswara,’ and we both believe in Lord Venkateswara, we can stand before the deity. If his accusations are true, Lord Venkateswara will punish me. If they are false, the Lord will punish him instead."

Vijayasai Reddy further challenged the claims made by K.V. Rao regarding a call in May 2020. “If I had called K.V. Rao in May 2020 as he claims, I request that call data records be summoned and verified. If it is proven that I made the call, I will accept my fault. To the best of my knowledge, I have never called him, and I clearly conveyed this during the inquiry.”

He also suggested a direct confrontation to verify the facts. “I told the ED to summon K.V. Rao and allow us to cross-examine each other. That will reveal the truth,” he stated.
