A case has been registered against YCP leader and former minister Kakani Goverdhan Reddy at Vedayapalem Police Station, a fact that surfaced belatedly. The complaint, lodged by a resident of Venkatachalam Mandal on December 27, led the police to take action against him.

In connection with the case, Mandala Venkata Sheshayya, a close associate of Kakani and a former ZPTC member of Venkatachalam, has been sent to judicial remand by the court. The complaint, filed by a woman, alleges that Sheshayya had sexually harassed her, prompting police to register the case.

Responding strongly to the developments, Kakani Goverdhan Reddy alleged political motives behind the complaints. He warned that after YCP returns to power, Venkatachalam Circle Inspector Subbarao would be forced to discard his police uniform and wear a yellow shirt to serve Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh.

Meanwhile, another individual lodged a complaint accusing the former minister of intimidating police officers and attempting to obstruct the investigation process. The complainant claimed that Kakani tried to influence the inquiry to prevent it from proceeding properly.
