The incident occurred during a government-organized meeting where eligibility lists for four welfare schemes, including the Indiramma housing scheme, were announced.
During the event, Kamalapur Market Committee Chairperson Tautam Jhansi Rani criticized the previous government, alleging it deceived people by promising double-bedroom houses but failing to deliver them to beneficiaries. This criticism led to a heated exchange when MLA Koushik Reddy interrupted her speech, shifting the blame onto the Congress government. His actions angered the locals, who accused him of disrupting the announcement of beneficiaries' names.
