Delhi Chief Minister Atishi Receives Relief in Court
Delhi Chief Minister Atishi received relief as the Rouse Avenue Court dismissed a defamation petition filed by the BJP. The case stemmed from Atishi’s remarks during the lead-up to the last Lok Sabha elections, in which she severely criticized the BJP. Atishi had alleged that certain leaders from the BJP threatened AAP leaders with arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) if they did not join the saffron party.

Following these remarks, BJP leader Praveen Shankar Kapoor filed a complaint with the police, leading to an FIR. Kapoor also filed a defamation petition against Atishi in court.

The Rouse Avenue Court recently reviewed the matter and concluded that Atishi’s comments were directed at the party as a whole and not at an individual. Based on this reasoning, the court dismissed the defamation petition.

This verdict comes as a significant relief for Atishi, particularly with the Delhi Assembly elections approaching.
