BCCI Takes U-Turn on Family Rule, Provides Relief to Team India Players
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly reversed its previous decision regarding players traveling with their family members. According to reports, the board has now permitted Indian cricketers to bring their family members to Dubai during the ICC Champions Trophy.

Following India's heavy defeat in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, BCCI had introduced a set of 10 strict guidelines, including restrictions on players traveling with their spouses or family members. However, the board has now relaxed this rule, providing relief to the players.

It is reported that players will be allowed to have their family members accompany them to Dubai, but with a condition. The permission is granted for only one match during the Champions Trophy. This information was revealed in a report by Dainik Jagran. The report also mentioned that players need to discuss among themselves and formally request BCCI’s approval, after which necessary arrangements will be made.

According to the previously issued 10-point directive, BCCI had approved family members staying with players for only two weeks during foreign tours exceeding 45 days. Additionally, the board had imposed restrictions on personal staff and commercial ad shoots for the players.

The ICC Champions Trophy is set to begin tomorrow, with India playing its first match against Bangladesh on February 20. This will be followed by a high-profile clash against Pakistan on February 23, and a match against New Zealand on March 2.
