Nara Lokesh Directs Officials to Ensure Transparent Teacher Transfers

Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Nara Lokesh has directed officials to ensure that teachers' seniority lists are prepared without any room for disputes in the upcoming transfer process. He issued these instructions during a review meeting held today at his residence in Undavalli, focusing on school, intermediate, and higher education matters.
During the meeting, the minister instructed officials to organize a workshop for public representatives to discuss alternative systems to Government Order (GO) 117, gathering their suggestions and recommendations. He also conducted a comprehensive discussion on the preparations for the upcoming District Selection Committee (DSC) recruitment process.
The meeting also addressed demands for salary hikes for junior college guest faculty. Nara Lokesh assured that a positive decision on this matter would be made soon. Additionally, officials informed him that a new syllabus would be introduced for first-year intermediate students starting from the next academic year.
He further instructed officials to complete the transfers of junior lecturers before the beginning of the new academic year.
The conduct of 10th-grade and intermediate public examinations was also discussed. Minister Nara Lokesh announced that on February 20, he would hold a video conference with district collectors, along with the Chief Secretary, to review examination preparations.
The impact of GO 42 and the disruptions it caused were reviewed in the meeting. Lokesh instructed officials to formulate policies that mitigate the damage caused to students' future due to this order. He also directed officials to address the issues faced by aided teachers.
The meeting included discussions on the Skill Mapping Program, with the minister emphasizing the need to enhance the initiative based on expert recommendations. He suggested integrating relevant data available with the central government to streamline Skill Census efforts.
To improve employment and livelihood opportunities for youth, Lokesh instructed officials to evaluate the roles of District Employment Officers, District Skill Development Officers, and SEED-AP District Managers at the district level and implement a unified system.
