Kash Patel Sworn in as New FBI Director, Takes Oath on Bhagavad Gita
Indian-American Kash Patel has been sworn in as the new director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Notably, he took his oath on the Bhagavad Gita. The swearing-in ceremony was held at the White House, where Attorney General Pam Bondi administered the oath.

Kash Patel's girlfriend, Alexis Wilkins, along with other family members, attended the event. Wilkins held the Bhagavad Gita while Patel placed his hand on it and took the oath. Following the ceremony, Patel addressed the media, stating that accountability would be a priority both within and outside the FBI.

Soon after assuming office, Patel announced a major decision to relocate 1,000 employees from the FBI's headquarters to various field offices across the country. Additionally, another 500 personnel will be transferred to the bureau's facility in Huntsville, Alabama.

This appointment aligns with President Donald Trump’s ongoing efforts to include Indian-Americans in key positions within his administration after assuming office for a second term.
