Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran Sets New Record Against England in Champions Trophy

Afghanistan batsman Ibrahim Zadran has set a new record in the Champions Trophy match against England. Zadran scored 177 runs off 146 balls, making him the highest individual scorer in a Champions Trophy match. His century included six sixes and twelve fours.
Powered by Zadran’s dominant batting, Afghanistan posted a total of 325 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 50 overs. The previous record for the highest individual score in a Champions Trophy match was held by England’s Ben Duckett, who had scored 165 runs. Zadran has now surpassed Duckett’s record.
In addition to Zadran’s innings, Afghanistan’s Azmatullah contributed 41 runs, while Mohammad Nabi and Hashmatullah Shahidi both scored 40 runs. Earlier in the innings, Afghanistan faced an early setback due to England pacer Jofra Archer’s aggressive bowling, losing three wickets for just 37 runs. However, Zadran and Azmatullah’s partnership helped Afghanistan recover and build a strong total.
