AP Government Releases New Rules on Unauthorized Constructions and Loans
The Andhra Pradesh government has issued new guidelines regarding unauthorized and illegal constructions. Municipal Administration Department Principal Secretary Suresh Kumar released the directives on Thursday. These guidelines align with the recent orders issued by the Supreme Court to all states.

According to the orders issued by the Municipal Administration Department, building owners must submit an undertaking regarding their Occupancy Certificate (OC). Authorities must ensure that buildings are occupied only if they possess a valid Occupancy Certificate. Additionally, construction plans must be displayed until the project is fully completed. Officials are instructed to regularly inspect building plans and ongoing construction to ensure compliance.

The guidelines further state that an Occupancy Certificate should not be issued until all deviations in construction are rectified. Strict action must be taken if an Occupancy Certificate is granted to buildings with violations. Basic amenities such as drinking water, drainage, and electricity connections should only be provided to structures that have received a Habitation Certificate.

The government has also directed that trade and business licenses should not be issued for illegal constructions. All buildings must comply with zonal plans without deviations. Moreover, banks should approve construction-related loans only after verifying the Habitation Certificate of the respective buildings.

These measures aim to regulate urban development and prevent unauthorized constructions across Andhra Pradesh.
